Norman Geras was a political theorist known for his works on Marx and intra-Marxist distinctions.

Norman Geras (1943, Bulawayo, Zimbabwe – October 8, 2013) began his education in Zimbabwe and continued it in the United Kingdom. From 1967 until his death, he served as a faculty member in the Department of Government at the University of Manchester. He contributed to the analysis of Karl Marx’s works and discussed the inter-school distinctions within Marxism, particularly those that became more pronounced after 1917.

He was one of the editors of the New Left Review. Among his significant works are The Legacy of Rosa Luxemburg (1976) and Marx and Human Nature: Refutation of a Legend (İletişim Publishing, 2002).
